We always carefully evaluate specific tenders that our clients wish us to take on. Our golden rule is “Don’t bid because you want to win – only bid if you can win”. A lot of companies – particularly SME’s – like the idea of winning a particular contract but don’t actually meet the buyers’ criteria. As such, bidding is a waste of time!
Before starting work on a new bid, Tim will estimate the time it will take him to prepare the response and that enables him to quote a fixed price for the work. This, in turn, means there are no unpleasant financial surprises for his clients.
He is ruthless when deciding whether to accept any particular job. If he does not think that his client has a good chance of winning then he will not waste their money trying!
